Hypnotherapy
The movies and television would have us believe that while in hypnosis, people become mindless zombies ready to cluck like a chicken at the snap of a finger. While this can make for compelling plot lines, the truth is that hypnosis, or trance, is a natural and normal state that we experience daily. When you sit down to watch a movie, lose yourself in a good book, or gaze off into the distance while waiting on the line at Starbucks, you’re likely in a state of trance.
Two factors are needed for hypnosis: focused awareness and pushing aside the analyzing, conscious mind. This combination allows us to enter a state of heightened suggestibility in which we can make profoundly positive changes.
The reason rapid change is possible through hypnosis is because we are bypassing the critical “thinking” mind and directly accessing the unconscious mind, which science tells us controls 90-95% of our behaviors. It is the unconscious that allows us to perform countless “automatic” activities throughout the day such as walking, driving a car and brushing teeth.
Even though the unconscious mind is a wonderful thing, many of our unproductive behaviors and bad habits are rooted in unconscious patterns that arise from past experiences. For example, a 10-year old child who is deeply embarrassed by his classmates while giving a presentation becomes an adult who is paralyzed with anxiety just thinking about presenting his project plans in the boardroom. Such anxiety is not an innately bad thing but simply a strategy our unconscious mind is using to try to protect us from feeling that embarrassment again. The good news is that with hypnosis we can effectively reprogram the unconscious mind to let go of old behaviors that no longer serve us and input new empowering suggestions that support desired outcomes.

What can I expect during a session?
While all sessions are different depending on the needs of the individual, Jeremy teaches every client several accessible and easy-to-remember techniques to reduce and eliminate anxiety and stress, which almost always act as the triggers for unwanted behaviors. Each session, the client is guided into a pleasant and deeply relaxing state of trance in which they are given powerful positive suggestions. All the techniques Jeremy utilizes are meant to support lasting change in the client in the fewest number of visits.
